About the event
After finishing her education, Rita lived in Paris where she studied fashion and couture design which lead her many years later to become an artist.
She worked in the fashion industry during her working life with a major British retail company forming a strong team of designers and then became a design consultant producing clothing ranges for companies in UK and Far East.
The opportunity of travelling during her career gave her time to visit art galleries and museums and after retiring she became the Programme Secretary for the local branch of the Art Society. Rita was responsible for selecting lecturers for the monthly meetings introducing her a wide range of fascinating people and topics, all of which extended her knowledge in the art world.
Rita is currently based in Stow-on-the-Wolds in the Cotswolds and took up oil painting after retiring, she enjoys the flexibility in textures, colours and a…
