About the event
Claire Carroll is an award winning local photographer one of whose passions is wildlife.
She recently went to Japan to photograph the courting rituals of the Japanese Red Crowned Crane. What struck her most about these beautiful black and white (with a little red!) birds was the abstract shapes they made against the snow white background. She has pushed the contrasts to emphasise the abstract quality of the images so that the end results are visual art rather than wildlife, design rather than realism.
