Wildflower Embroidery

Spend three inspiring hours learning simple but effective wildflower embroidery techniques under the expert hand of designer dressmaker Catharina Eden.

Participants will start with a short introduction to different embroidery techniques that will be used and by discussing scale and form to suit their chosen garment from home. The embroidery can also be done onto a fabric from a selection that Catharina will have brought with.

Participants will be encouraged to dive straight in and start embroidering directly onto their garment or fabric after having traced on and planned the design first.

People of all abilities and skill levels are welcome and there will be no pressure to produce finished work – it’s a few hours to enjoy an inspiring time and to learn and practise a new skill to take home. Some may finish their chosen embroidery though and the ones who have not, will be able to finish it in their own time having learnt the methods.

All materials (hoop, needle, fabrics and enough thread to finish the embroidery) are included in the price and additional threads are available to buy on the day as well.

There will be light complementary refreshments provided.

About the tutor

Catharina Eden has worked in all aspects of the clothing industry spanning almost 20 years from running a clothing manufacturing company, eponymous evening wear brand, bespoke bridal atelier and most recently sewing costumes including for the popular series Bridgerton.
